The Young Men Illinois Club, Inc. was organized in the Spring of 1926 and staged its first Carnival Ball in 1927.  Its purpose is to make an annual formal presentation of eligible young ladies to society during New Orleans' world famous Carnival season.  The Young Men Illinois Club, Inc. was also formed to promote closer social relationship among its members and to enable them to perfect any movement for their mutual benefit.

Ava Rose Robertson, a student at Episcopal High School of Baton Rouge, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Corey Robertson. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn and Claude J. Tellis, MD, Charlotte Salvant Baker and Marvel and Emile Robertson.
