Young Men Illinois Club, Inc.
The Young Men Illinois Club, Inc. was organized in the Spring of 1926 and staged its first Carnival Ball in 1927. Its purpose is to make an annual formal presentation of eligible young ladies to society during New Orleans' world famous Carnival season. The Young Men Illinois Club, Inc. was also formed to promote closer social relationship among its members and to enable them to perfect any movement for their mutual benefit.

Sydney Carol Mason is the daughter of YMI Member and Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge Omar K. Mason, and Mrs. Carla Bringier-Mason. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram L. Mason, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Bringier, Jr. and the late Carol Roussell Bringier.
